Preaching near the Gallows

On Mr. Whitefield's preaching near the Gallows
on Kennington Common

To giddy Crowds Whitefield harangues at Seven,
To starve and pray, the only Road to Heav'n;
Enthron'd amidst the circling Rabble, teaches
To be new-born, and such-like Topicks preaches:
And if his frantick Sermons miss their Aim,
Its hop'd the Gallows will their Lives reclaim.
